JetHawks Drop First Game of Doubleheader, Rained Out in Nightcap
Game will be made up later in season

(ADELANTO, CA) – At least they finished one game. After High Desert rallied for a 5-3 win over Lancaster in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader, rain washed away the second contest. It will be made up as part of a double-header later in the season.

Lancaster took advantage of walks to lead most of the first game. A walk and a stolen base put David Flores at second base with two outs in the third inning. Mark Ori singled him home to break a scoreless tie. Another walk led to a Lancaster run in the fourth inning when Josh Flores reached base in front of an Albert Cartwright triple that put the JetHawks ahead 2-0. Dallas Keuchel’s strong pitching kept the JetHawks in the lead for most of the game. The southpaw set a season-high by pitching into the sixth inning, the Mavericks struck for five runs in the inning, thanks to a critical error by JetHawks reliever Kyle Godfrey.

The JetHawks were off to a good start in the second game before the rain came. Brandon Wikoff singled and scored on a Mavericks error in the first inning to put the JetHawks up 1-0. They had loaded the bases with two outs in the second inning when the game was suspended.

The JetHawks’ road trip moves to Rancho Cucamonga Thursday night. Brad Dydalewicz (0-1) will pitch for the JetHawks against Manny Flores (1-1) of the Quakes. Tune in for all the live action beginning with the JetHawks pre-game show at 6:50 on www.jethawks.com/CSN and NewsTalk 1380.
