JetHawks to Begin Playoffs Saturday Against Lake Elsinore
The Lancaster JetHawks will begin their run in the California League Playoffs Saturday at 5 PM by hosting the Lake Elsinore Storm for game one of the Southern Division Championship. Game two will be Sunday at 2 PM, also at Clear Channel Stadium.
Chad Epperson Named California League Manager of the Year For Second Year In A Row
Reddick & Jimenez also named to league post-season all star team
(LANCASTER, CA) – The California League announced its 2008 post-season All-Stars and Awards today and the JetHawks captured three spots on the distinguished list, including Manager of the Year, which Chad Epperson won for the second straight season. OF Josh Reddick and 3B Jorge Jimenez also were named as post-season all stars. The voting is done by league managers, general managers, and broadcasters, as well as selected members of local media.
Lancaster Clinches 2nd Half Title on Season's Final Day
The Lancaster JetHawks clinched their second championship – the second half title - in 2008, on the final day of the regular season. The Lake Elsinore Storm, who entered Labor Day a game behind the JetHawks, lost assuring Lancaster of the second half title to go along with their first half championship. Lancaster will be the #1 seed in the South Division Playoffs. On Labor Day, The JetHawks lost a 6-4 decision of their own to San Jose.
